My Beauty Advent Calenders 2014

Growing up I never really had a chocolate advent calendar, it just wasn't something we did in my family. I would however sometimes buy discounted ones in the sales after Christmas :) hey chocolate is chocolate right?!

Last year was the first time I bought a beauty advent calendar (from boots) honestly I never knew they existed before then! This year I may have gone a bit overboard and purchased not 1, not 2 but 3 advent calendars....well if I don't treat myself who will??

YOU Beauty Advent Calendar £49.95 (Worth over £240) Still available to buy.
This Calender was a no-brainer for me! Including brands such as Laura Mercier, Liz Earle, Benefit, John Masters....who could resist. I did have a quick look at the contents before buying and there are a few repeats from boxes I've received over the last few months BUT it's products I'm happy to have duplicates of. Also included are many products I've yet to try. This is a HUGE box and comes with a handy booklet with info on all the products featured.

Boots No.7 Beauty Calender £35 (contents worth £130) Sold out online, but may still be available in some stores.
As I mentioned above it was the Boots Advent Calender I bought last year. This year instead of a mix of brands the calendar only has No.7 products. I normally buy at least one No.7 gift set at Xmas so this makes a good alternative. Contains best selling products, a special beauty quote behind every door and has an extra door to open on Christmas day.

Tesco Coundown to Christmas Advent Calendar £50 (now reduced to £25 for a very limited time) contents worth £125.
This is the first year Tesco have released a beauty advent calendar. Contains brands such as Nip+Fab, Korres, Katy Perry, Dr. LeWinns, Baylis & Harding. I was able to use some club card boost points making this calendar cost me only £5! What a bargain.

I really wanted the Benefit Candy Coated Countdown Advent Calendar but unfortunately I was at work when it was released and it sold out within hours! But to be fair there are a lot of products I wouldn't use and 6 of the items aren't even Benefit products! So instead I bought this Best of Benefit set for £24.50 in the Black Friday deals. Still available to buy online and instore.

I'm so excited I can't wait to start opening these tomorrow, this is better than Christmas :)
Were you lucky enough to get your hands on a beauty advent calendar this year or are you going traditional and getting a chocolate one? Leave a comment below :)

Birchbox UK November - Cosy At Home

This months Birchbox landed earlier this week while I was away visiting family. The theme is 'Cosy at Home' which is a perfect fit for this time of year. Wrapping up warm and snuggly at home, this box has been designed for the ultimate pamper on a cosy night in.

This month subscribers were all given a full sized skincare product from Dr Jart+. I received V7 Turnover Booster which retails for £32!! This lightweight gel serum soothes and moisturises the skin to leave your complexion glowing.

Next up is another full sized product. OPI Nail Lacquer in a shimmery silvery shade 'Turn on the Haute Light' - RRP £11.95. Part of the limited edition Coca-Cola collection, this is a gorgeous polish for the festive season.

I'm no stranger to Birchbox's own brand Beauty Protector. My hair loves this range! I already own the full sized Protect & Detangle leave-in conditioner (RRP £14) so this sample will go in my travel bag. Used on damp hair, this spray detangles, minimises frizz, safegaurds colour and adds shine to your hair. And it smells Amazing!

Lord & Berry Mini Bronzer in the shade 'Sienna' (full size £19) I'm not really one to use bronzers as most contain shimmers, but this one has super fine, matte bronzing pigments which will be great for adding a healthy glow throughout the cooler months.

What beauty box would be complete without including a perfume sample? English Laundry Signature For Her - I've received samples of this in past boxes but happy to receive another sample as full size costs £60. It is a lovely floral scent with hints of musk. Still doesn't beat my normal Ghost Eclipse perfume but will be nice to wear when I want a change.

Last up is the lifestyle extra - A multivitamin with a difference - Drinkwel Capsules (£32.99 for 90 capsules) Packed with all the good stuff needed to help you recover after a big night out drinking! You are to take 3 capsules with water before bed to help with the hangover in the morning. Or take in morning with food & water to keep you energised throughout the day. An interesting product, not something I would of thought to buy myself.

So there we have it, Novemebers Cosy at Home Birchbox. A great selection of products including 2 full sized items! Did you get a box this month? Did you get the same or difference products?

You can sign up to Birchbox HERE and get £5 worth of points to spend in the e-shop.

Love Me Beauty - October Box

The new and improved Love Me Beauty give subscribers 6 credits each month to create their very own bespoke box! Typically full sized items are worth 2 credits and sample/dulex sizes are worth 1 credit. This month I had 7 credits (1 extra credit given for completing surveys on the old system) and I was given a bonus product for being a regular subscriber :)
If you'd like to sign up you can do so HERE and enter code SDAQOF at checkout for an extra credit.

This month I have 3 full sized and 3 travel sized items in my box!

This first product I chose was Oriflame - Swedish Spa Cooling Shower Mousse 150ml (£4.95 - 2 credits)
This foaming shower mousse contains Peppermint Oil, which gives an immediate cooling feeling and Silver Birch Extract known for its remineralising properties. Leaves skin refreshed and with a delicate scent.
Next up I chose Percy & Reed - Lovingly Light Foaming Treatment Mask 150ml (£20 - 2 credits)
Enriched with strengthening ProVitamin B5 to help boost weakened strands and lengths, it leaves your hair feeling soft, nourished, stronger and healthier.

Malin+Goetz is a brand I've not used before, so I opted to try the Vitamin E Face Moisturiser 29ml (£36 for 118ml - 1 credit) A residue-free moisturiser which gently and effectively hydrates and ph balances the skin without blocking the pores, and the Grapefruit Face Cleanser 29ml (£25 for 236ml - 1 credit) a foaming gel that uses natural grapefruit extract and amino acid-based skincare agents to deeply cleanse skin and remove makeup.
With my extra credit I chose S5 Renew Serum 10ml (£10 - 1 credit)
I really like this brand and choose two S5 products in last months box. This is an age defying treatment which plumps and smoothes fine lines and wrinkles for a more youthful complexion.

As a bonus this month I received a full sized 100ml bottle of Weleda Calendula Massage Oil worth £9.95.

Overall I'm really pleased with this box and the value of the products. As it stands the website has not been updated yet since September so I'm hoping to see some new brands/products next month.
Sign up to Love Me Beauty & be sure to enter code SDAQOF at checkout for an extra credit.
