Love Me Beauty - October Box

The new and improved Love Me Beauty give subscribers 6 credits each month to create their very own bespoke box! Typically full sized items are worth 2 credits and sample/dulex sizes are worth 1 credit. This month I had 7 credits (1 extra credit given for completing surveys on the old system) and I was given a bonus product for being a regular subscriber :)
If you'd like to sign up you can do so HERE and enter code SDAQOF at checkout for an extra credit.

This month I have 3 full sized and 3 travel sized items in my box!

This first product I chose was Oriflame - Swedish Spa Cooling Shower Mousse 150ml (£4.95 - 2 credits)
This foaming shower mousse contains Peppermint Oil, which gives an immediate cooling feeling and Silver Birch Extract known for its remineralising properties. Leaves skin refreshed and with a delicate scent.
Next up I chose Percy & Reed - Lovingly Light Foaming Treatment Mask 150ml (£20 - 2 credits)
Enriched with strengthening ProVitamin B5 to help boost weakened strands and lengths, it leaves your hair feeling soft, nourished, stronger and healthier.

Malin+Goetz is a brand I've not used before, so I opted to try the Vitamin E Face Moisturiser 29ml (£36 for 118ml - 1 credit) A residue-free moisturiser which gently and effectively hydrates and ph balances the skin without blocking the pores, and the Grapefruit Face Cleanser 29ml (£25 for 236ml - 1 credit) a foaming gel that uses natural grapefruit extract and amino acid-based skincare agents to deeply cleanse skin and remove makeup.
With my extra credit I chose S5 Renew Serum 10ml (£10 - 1 credit)
I really like this brand and choose two S5 products in last months box. This is an age defying treatment which plumps and smoothes fine lines and wrinkles for a more youthful complexion.

As a bonus this month I received a full sized 100ml bottle of Weleda Calendula Massage Oil worth £9.95.

Overall I'm really pleased with this box and the value of the products. As it stands the website has not been updated yet since September so I'm hoping to see some new brands/products next month.

GlossyBox UK October Unboxing

This month Glossybox have done a 'Pop Art' Edition box, which has 4 fulled sized items and 2 sample. This months box was so popular is has already sold out. Novembers edition is now on sale HERE

I actually really like everything in the box this month which is probably a first!!

First up is surprisingly my favourite item this month. Ciate London Paint Pot - Full size 13.5ml which retails for £9. I don't wear nail polish often and when I read there was a polish included this month I was thinking 'Oh great not another one!' but as its black it will come in very handy for halloween!! Or just any night out really, as more often than not I always wear black dresses.

Next up is Rimmel London BB Cream in 'Light' 8ml sample (£6.99 for 30ml). This 9-in-1 skin perfecting cream contains kaolin, witch hazel and salicylic acid for a flawless matte look. I have full size of this already which matches my skintone quite well but I prefer something with a bit more coverage.

So Susan Cosmetics Flutter Mascara - Full size £14.95 for 4ml. Again this is another product I already own. Its a good mascara but found it takes a while to dry on the lashes which isn't too handy when I'm rushing out the door in the mornings...cue rain and black smudges under my eyes! I do however like the brand as a whole - I'm currently using their Eyebrow Palette and Blusher.

Etre Belle Cosmetics Liplift Peel - Full size 15ml is €12.95 (£10 approx). This moisturising lip exfoliator gently removes dead cells refining the skin's surface for perfectly soft lips. Something new for me to try, never given much thought to lip exfoliators before as I would just use my normal facial exfoliator. Gotta keep those lips soft and kissable I guess!

Yves Rocher France Quelques Notes D’Amour 5ml sample (£33 for 30ml). The scent is nice but quite floral. Described as a scent that 'encapsulates the feeling of falling in love through fusing notes of damascus rose, guaiac wood and patchouli'.

Nuxe Creme Fraiche De Beaute Mask (Full size 50ml £19.50)  This moisturising mask with Plant Milks and White Blossom provides intensive moisturisation to hydrate and soothe the skin, instantly reducing discomfort or redness. Skin is left looking radiant and relaxed. Can be kept in the fridge for an even more refreshing effect.

Wow a great box this month with products total valued at £60! Did you get a Glossybox this month? What did you think of it?

Birchbox UK October 2014

October is Breast Cancer awareness month so Birchbox have partnered with Coppafeel! - a charity whose mission is to ensure you know the signs and symptoms of breast cancer, in order stamp out late detection. My granny was diagnosed earlier this year with breast cancer so this is a topic that speaks to the heart for me. Thankfully with treatment her tumor has reduced enough that she doesn't need surgery.

All women should do a monthly check, here's what to look out for.

This month all the products came in a really cute pink makeup zip case. Much more useful than the normal draw string bags.

The first product this month is 2 sachets of Pink Clay Face Mask by Cattier 12.5ml each (£4.25 for 100ml) Enriched with shea butter and peppermint which restore, refresh and nourish your skin. I've used one of these masks so far, but found I can get 2 uses from each sachet.

KMS California Hair Play Dry Wax 75ml (£15 for 150ml)
This is a wax spray that can be used on towel-dried or dry hair to add body and texture to the hair. I tend to only use oils in my hair so this product will be interesting to try.

Shaveworks The Cool Fix 29ml (£11 for 60ml)
The tingly gel is packed with natural exfoliators to remove dead skin that cause ingrown hairs and can lead to infections. Contains a moisturising medicalm complex that immediately cools and soothes razor bumps and red irritated skin after hair removal. I will use this sample but unlikely to repurchase as its not really the kinda thing I would normally use.

Pixi by Petra Shea Lip Balm (£8)
I received the shade 'Honey Nectar' which gives a sheer hint of colour. Very nourishing lip balm packed with shea butter and vitamin E.

Meaningful Beauty Glowing Serum 8ml (15ml £30.95)
Collaborated by Dr. Sebagh and Cindy Crawford over a decade ago this glow-giving “models secret” serum is packed with nourishing soy protein, marine botanicals, minerals and antioxidants. Designed to smooth and condition leaving the skin with a youthful, luminous glow.

Lifestyle extra this month is a cute pink pen, not one I'd take to work but will come in handy for notes at home.

I'd say a good mix of products this month. If you'd like to sign up to Birchbox please use my link HERE and we will both be rewarded with £5 worth of points to spend in the eshop. For every new subscriber in October Birchbox will donate £1 to Coppafeel!

Internet problems - pain in the A**

Well no Internet at home for best part of 2 weeks + slow connections when there was internet is never good. So many things to catch up on! This month has flown by, I just don't seem to find the time to do anything. Doesn't help that when I do have nights free to blog the computer is occupied :(

Anyhoo 66 days til Christmas!! Better start buying pressies for family/friends... I hate this time of year...Bah humbug thats me haha

Anyone have any ideas or websites for good presents pass them my way :)

LoveLula Green Beauty Box October Unboxing

My postie loves me! Or maybe it was a different guy today but anyway my LoveLula box was waiting on my doormat (or rather under it) when I got home from work :) Why they can't do this all the time is beyond me.

This months box contains lots of little samples, and as usual 20% off any full sizes on LoveLula's website from the brands featured in the October box.

The first product I noticed is one I have sampled in the past and LOVE!
Bodhi & Birch Mint Thé Bath & Shower Therapy 50ml (£18 for 200ml). This smells so refreshing and invigorating, perfect body wash to waken me up in the mornings.

Yes To Carrots Gentle Cleansing Wipes - 10 pack (£3.99 for 25)
These fragrance-free towelettes will be very handy when I can't be bothered to remove my makeup with my normal cleanser.

Inika Organic Eye Liner Pencil in 'Black Caviar' RRP £13.50.
Something I don't own much of is organic makeup and what better way to start my collection than with an eyeliner. It also comes with its very own sharpener.

Dr Lipp Original Nipple Balm for Lips - 3ml (£11.50 for 15ml)
Now don't get the wrong idea, yes I said it was a nipple balm...but it is for LIPS!! The secret balm passed on from nursing mothers to Make-up Artists, this balm can be used on dry skin, lips, cuticles, feet and if you so desire... nipples! :) I have the full size of this already so I will pass this one on.

John Masters Organics Rose & Apricot Hair Milk - 5ml (£25 for 118ml)
Newly released this summer, this light leave-in hair milk nourishes and protects hair using nine certifies-organic oils and extracts. Perfect for dry, damaged hair. Just apply to damp hair and style as normal.

Green People Gentle Cleanse & Make-up Remover - 25ml RRP £4.95
This alcohol-free cleanser gently removes all makeup to leave skin silky smooth. Contains Organic Aloe Vera, Calendula, Shea butter, Squalane from Olive oil, Jojoba Esters & Rose Geranium.

Also in the box is three samples from the Green People Age Defy+ range.
Soft Buff Skin Exfoliator 10ml (£19.95 for 30ml)
Purify & Hydrate Cream Cleanser 1.5ml
Line Eraser Lip & Eye 0.5ml (£18.95 for 10ml)

This months box has a value around £35 which is really good considering the box cost me £12.50. I have however cancelled my subscription (for now) to try and save a bit of money for xmas! See I can be good sometimes :)
